Zone 5 Summer Games Information


The BC Summer Games are fast approaching! All Zone 5 athletes and coaches who are interested in attending the BC Summer Games are encouraged to read through the information below.


Zone 5 Trials Info:

Date : June 9th 2024

Time: 2 pm to 5 pm

Location: Westsider Wrestling Club, St. Mary's Kerrisdale, 2490 W 37th

Ave, Vancouver, BC V6M 1P5

 

Zone 5 BC Summer Games Camp:

Date : May 25th,2024

Time: 1 pm to 3 pm

Location: Westsider Wrestling Club, St. Mary's Kerrisdale, 2490 W 37thAve, Vancouver, BC V6M 1P5

Information: This camp is mandatory for those who have signed up. Attendance to the camp does not guarantee a spot on the BC Summer Games team but the camp will determine the initial spots for the roster.


Fee:$20

Team Practices:

Those selected for the ZONE 5 team must make every effort to attend all team practices.

Team practices are mandatory. Practice location is at Westsider Wrestling Club, St. Mary's Kerrisdale, 2490 W37th Ave, Vancouver, BC V6M 1P5.


Practice Times:

Tuesdays at 4:15 pm,

Fridays at 5:15 pm and

Saturdays at 4:15 pm.

 

SUMMER GAMES INFORMATION:

Competition Dates: July 17th to July 21st

Competition Location: Maple Ridge Secondary

Competition Registration Deadline: June 10th, 2024

Age Description: 14–17 years as of December 31, 2024.

Eligible birth years: 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010.


Eligibility:

  1. You must reside in one of these cities: Regional Districts of Squamish-Lillooet (excluding Electoral Areas A and B), Sunshine Coast, Electoral Area A of the Greater Vancouver Regional District.  Includes the major centres of the District of Delta, the Village of Lions Bay, the corporation of North Delta, the city of North Vancouver, the district of North Vancouver, the city of Richmond, the corporation of Tsawwassen, the city of Vancouver, and the district of West Vancouver.

  2. Wrestlers who placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd at any Canadian U19 or U20 National Championships are not eligible to participate in the BC Summer Games. The only exceptions to this are those athletes who had fewer than 6 participants in their weight class at the National Championship. Exceptions must be approved by the Provincial Advisor.

  3. Athletes who have been selected and competed for Canada as a member of the Canadian Cadet National Team at the U17 World Championships or Pan American Championships are not eligible to compete at the BC Summer Games.
