Amateur wrestling offers a tremendous number of benefits to athletes who participate. including: fun, fitness, healthy living, and an opportunity to achieve excellence. It is a sport that is accessible to all, regardless of gender, size or ability. Wrestling develops physical parameters such as endurance, coordination, strength, speed, agility, balance, and flexibility. Psychological advantages nurtured include discipline, self-confidence, goal-setting, achievement and camaraderie. Wrestling instills good sportsmanship - each match begins and ends with a handshake.

Coaches — your first step in the 2MEV system is to create your team so athletes and members can affiliate under it. Please note that team approval may take 24–48 hours, so plan ahead. Contact info@bcwrestling.com to get started.

Once your team is set-up, you can begin registering your athletes or members. Please note, athletes and members can also register themselves and affiliate with your club. If registering your whole team, we recommend coaches collect athlete information beforehand to ensure a smooth registration process. Why Become a Member?

As a BCWA member, you gain access to a wide range of events and development opportunities:

  • Tournaments – Compete in BCWA-organized or sanctioned events like the West Coast Open, Western Age Class Championships, BCWA Provincial Championships, and other BCWA-sanctioned tournaments.

  • Camps & Development – Participate in seasonal wrestling camps and provincial development programs.

  • Coaching & Officiating – Attend workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge.

  • Safesport - Insurance coverage in the event of injury (many rental facilities also require proof of insurance coverage).

If you’re attending the Canadian National Championships, you’ll need PSO membership — that’s where BCWA membership comes in!
