Membership & Registration

Wrestling in BC starts with registration

Whether you're an athlete, coach, official, volunteer, parent, or club administrator, registration helps ensure that you are connected to BCWA and participating within a safe, insured, and organized sport system.

The 2026/2027 membership season will look a little different. We’ve made changes to strengthen BCWA’s governance, better understand our membership, and invest in the future of wrestling in BC.

There are two parts to getting connected with BCWA:

For Clubs & Teams: Complete your annual Club Sanctioning first

For Individuals: Register for your BCWA Membership and select your affiliated club/team

Clubs can choose how they want to manage registration. Your club can use Uplifter to manage everything, simply view affiliated members, or submit member registrations through a bulk import. See more below.

All BCWA clubs and teams must complete annual Club Sanctioning before registering or affiliating members. Start by completing a new Club Application, even if your club was registered with BCWA last season or in previous years.

During the sanctioning process, clubs will provide basic club and leadership information and choose how they want to use Uplifter to manage their team and members.

Choose the option that works best for your club:

  • Option A — Full Uplifter: Manage your club programs, registrations, and payments through Uplifter. Did you know you can register your members for BCWA membership AND collect your club fees through Uplifter?

  • Option B — Affiliation Only: Use Uplifter to view members affiliated with your club while managing your club fees and registrations externally.

  • Option C — Bulk Import: Collect BCWA membership fees directly from your members and submit their registrations through a bulk upload.

Not sure which option is right for your team? Learn more about each option here.

Why Become a Member?

Become a BCWA Member

Individual Membership Registration

Your BCWA membership connects you to wrestling across British Columbia and provides access to BCWA programs, events, development opportunities, and insurance coverage.

Register or renew your 2026/2027 BCWA membership:

Once registered, you are covered under the BC Wrestling Insurance Policy for the duration of your membership coverage. Coverage includes Commercial General Liability, Participant Accident Insurance, abuse coverage, and more (visit our Insurance webpage for more information)

Are you part of a school team?

You can still register for BCWA membership and participate in BCWA events! Athletes who are not affiliated with a BCWA-sanctioned club can register as Unaffiliated/Independent Members. BCWA events are open to eligible members regardless of their club or school team affiliation.

Membership must be completed before participating in wrestling activities where BCWA membership and insurance coverage are required. By registering for BCWA membership, members agree to abide by the BCWA Membership Policy.

For more information on membership definitions and projections for membership fees over the next 1-3 years, please view the BCWA Registered Participant Policy

As a BCWA member, you gain access to a wide range of events and development opportunities:

  • Tournaments – Compete in BCWA-organized or sanctioned events like the West Coast Open, Western Age Class Championships, BCWA Provincial Championships, and other BCWA-sanctioned tournaments.

  • Camps & Development – Participate in seasonal wrestling camps and provincial development programs.

  • Coaching & Officiating – Attend workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge.

  • Safesport - Insurance coverage in the event of injury (many rental facilities also require proof of insurance coverage).

If you’re attending the Canadian National Championships, you’ll need PSO membership — that’s where BCWA membership comes in!
