
The Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation Council (I∙SPARC) is accepting applications for vacant volunteer Head Coach, Assistant Coach and Manager positions to serve on TEAM BC for various sports for the 2023 NAIG.
Team BC is excited to send approximately 535 athletes and coaches to participate in the following 13 sports: 3D Archery, Athletics (Track & Field). Badminton, Basketball, Canoe/Kayak, Golf, Lacrosse (Box), Rifle Shooting, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Volleyball, Wrestling.
ROLE OF THE COACH / ASSISTANT COACH:
Working together with I∙SPARC and the respective Provincial Sport Committee, the volunteer coaching staff play a lead role in the selection, training, supervision, and guidance of athletes attending the Games. Coaching staff are responsible for the 24/7 supervision of their athletes for the duration of the Games.
ROLE OF THE MANAGER:
Managers assist with the general running of a team off the field to maximize opportunity for coaches to focus on technical / coaching aspects. Managers support the coach(es), athletes and parents ensuring strong team communications and managing of team administrative tasks. Managers are also responsible for assisting with supervision of their athletes through the duration of NAIG.
