Updates to SFU Red Leafs Open Technical Package

Register Now and Save - Earlybird Deadline Wednesday Nov 11th

We are so excited as the the Red Leafs Open is fast approaching! We wanted to inform everyone that a few minor updates have been made to the technical package and schedule. Key updates include:

  • A 2kg Weight Allowance has been added (Weightclasses remain the same, and follows U Sports weightclass distributions)

  • Updated Weigh-In Time (7:30-8:30am): Please note the 15-minute adjustment to the weigh-in schedule. This change provides pairing masters and event staff with additional time to prepare and set up the draws in TrackWrestling. The event will still begin at 10:00 AM.

  • Minimum Age for competition (born on or before 2009): Athletes who are still attending secondary or high school must have a signed parent/guardian waiver to participate. Waivers will be available at the tournament or can be requested in advance. Please note that this tournament is primarily intended for university and senior-level athletes.

SFU West Gym | Saturday, November 14 at 7:45-8:45AM

(The West gym open with check scales available at 7:00am)


Weights (2026 U Sports Weights ~ kg)

Men: 57, 61, 65, 68, 72, 76, 82, 90, 100, 125 kg

Women: 50, 53, 56, 59, 62, 65, 68, 72, 76, 83 kg 

*There will be no weight allowance

Pre-Registration is due by Wednesday, November 11, 2026 at 11:59pm.

Registration will continue up until November 14th at 7:30 am. Payment for registrations will take place on-site through credit, cheque, or cash.

Membership Requirement: Varsity University, BCWA/PSO, or USA Wrestling Membership required. 


Cost: 

Pre-registration fee (early bird): $50 per athlete (registration email received before Nov 11)

Registration fee: $75 per athlete (registration received from Nov 12-14)

Officials - are you looking to upgrade or be evaluated?
