Mark your calendars for the upcoming NCCP Community Sport and Competition Introduction Workshops!

Please note that all BCWA coaches must meet minimum NCCP requirements (see here). Additionally, coaches who wish to coach at the WCL National Championships must complete their Competition Introduction Training.

This training is typically only offered in the Fall, so if you plan to coach at Nationals in the Spring, now is the time to complete your training!

BCWA membership and two separate registrations are required for each of the courses below to ensure your participation is properly recorded as completed in the Locker:

  1. Register through the Locker – This records the course on your coaching profile and ensures it appears in your completed training history.

  2. Register and pay through Uplifter – This completes your course registration and payment with BCWA.

Community Sport - Kids Wrestling

This practical, mat-based workshop is designed to provide participants with a foundational understanding of how to safely and effectively teach basic wrestling skills in an engaging and interactive environment. Developed for elementary and secondary school teachers, parents, coaches, volunteers, and community leaders, the workshop focuses on creating positive learning experiences while emphasizing safety, skill development, and participant engagement.

Participants will learn fundamental wrestling movements, teaching progressions, interactive activities, and safety considerations. Through hands-on activities and guided practice, attendees will gain the confidence and knowledge needed to introduce wrestling in school, recreational, or community settings.

Registered participants will be emailed more workshop information a week before the first session.
