In the world of wrestling, some names resonate far beyond the mat, leaving a legacy that touches not only the athletes but the sport itself. Mike Jones is one such name. Known for his relentless spirit, unparalleled skill, and unwavering dedication to the sport, Jones became a legend in Canadian wrestling. To honor his contributions, the BC Wrestling Association proudly presents the Mike Jones Belt Series—a competition series designed not only to celebrate his legacy but to challenge and elevate the new generation of wrestling talent.
The BC Wrestling Association Mike Jones Championship Belt Awards will be presented annually. Eligibility will be determined and verified by BCWA. This award supports athletes’ participation in BCWA events and recognizes the exceptional achievements of developing BC athletes.
Eligibility:
Must be a current registered athlete member of, and in good standing with BCWA.
Must place first (Gold) at War on the Floor Elite, Western Canada Age Class U19, and BCWA Provincial Championships in the same competition season.
The athlete may place first in various weight classes and is not required to compete in the same weight class for all events.

The Scoresheet
We encourage you to monitor “The Scoresheet” as we highlight and track the results of the competitions in the Mike Jones Championship Belt Series. The Scoresheet will be updated following the completion of each event in the series to track belt-eligible athletes and serves as a notice of the current seeding for the new BCWA Club Provincial Championships, scheduled for March 15-16, 2024.
