Thank you - BCWA Club Championships

The BC Wrestling Association would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who helped make the 2026 BCWA Club Provincial Championships such an incredible success.

First and foremost, we would like to recognize Cowichan Valley Wrestling Club and their entire team for hosting this outstanding event. Organizing a championship of this scale requires countless hours of preparation, coordination, and dedication. The Cowichan team created a welcoming and professional environment where wrestling could shine, athletes could compete with pride and sportsmanship, and our community could come together to celebrate the sport we love. Thank you for your tremendous effort and hospitality.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to the many volunteers who helped make the event run smoothly. From filming matside and running table operations, to greeting spectators, preparing food, and supporting the venue throughout the weekend — your time and dedication were essential to the success of the championships.

A special thank you goes out to the officials and draw teams, whose professionalism and hard work ensured that the competition ran smoothly and fairly. Your expertise and commitment are vital to the integrity of our sport.

Thank you to Duncan Christian School and Queen of Angels School for providing important equipment, Urban Valley Tees for producing fantastic tournament swag, and Tim Horton’s, Country Grocer, and Thrifty Foods for helping supply the concession and coaches’ room (and to the incredible volunteers who baked goodies for so many - how incredible were those singlet cookies?!).

We would also like to thank the Duncan Lions Club for their valuable volunteer support, and Titan Project Physiotherapy along with Heather Leslie for providing excellent medical coverage and ensuring athlete safety throughout the event.

Thank you as well to the wonderful VIP guests who joined us and helped present medals: Mayor Rob Douglas, Councillors Tek Manhas and Bruce Findlay, Queen Margaret’s School Head of School Ander Monro, and Olympian and World Champion Justina Di Stasio. Your presence helped make the championships even more special for our athletes.

Finally, we want to thank the wrestling community itself. Events like this happen because of the dedication of athletes, coaches, clubs, families, and supporters who train year-round, give their time, and share a passion for this sport. Clubs exist because of people who care deeply about wrestling and about one another.

You are what makes this community so special, and we are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you.
