We are excited to offer a range of upcoming NCCP Opportunities for coaches! New to NCCP or looking to get re-certified? We recommend reading through our BCWA Coaching Qualifications Here! 


As a friendly reminder:

  • All BCWA coaches must hold a valid BCWA membership & at least “in-training” status.

  • Certified teachers are exempted from NCCP training requirements through providing a valid copy of teaching certification to BCWA

  • If you’re new to NCCP, start with the Community Coach Workshop – a great intro to coaching!

  • Planning to coach at the 2026 Nationals (eg. U17, U19 or BC Summer Games)? You’ll need Competition Introduction Part 1 & 2! 

NCCP is mainly offered in the Fall, so don’t miss this chance!

Community Sport Training - Chilliwack We’re excited to invite you to register for the upcoming NCCP Community Sport – Kids Wrestling Workshop! A big thank-you to the Chilliwack Grapplers Wrestling Team and Bill Brooks for partnering with us and hosting this event.

Community Sport Training - Vancouver (Sir Charles Tupper)

We’re Excited to Offer a Grassroots Wrestling Workshop - Community Sport Training! If you want to teach basic wrestling skills to grassroots participants (ages 14 and under), this 5-hour interactive workshop is for you! Designed for elementary and high school teachers, parents, volunteers, and municipal recreation officers, this Long-Term Development workshop provides the tools to coach and teach wrestling fundamentals in a fun, safe, and engaging environment.

October 24: 9 am – 2 pm  Location: Sir Charles Tupper Secondary School (419 E 24th Ave, Vancouver, BC V5V 2A1)

Upcoming Competition Introduction 

Attention coaches: If you are interested in coaching at the 2026 National Championships, you will need to complete competition introduction training part 1 and 2. This session is specifically geared towards coaches who wish to coach at the national level (eg. U19 Nationals).

  1. Tuesday October 7, 6 pm (Planning a Practice part 1, 2.5 hours online)

  2. Thursday October 9, 6 pm (Planning a Practice part 2, 2.5 hours online)

  3. Tuesday October 14, 6 pm (Teaching and Learning part 1, 2.5 hours online)

  4. Thursday October 16, 6 pm (Teaching and Learning part 2, 2.5 hours online)

NCCP Competition Introduction Part 2

Schedule

  1. Tuesday October 21, 6 pm (Technical and Tactical Theory, 2.5 hours online)

  2. Thursday October 23, 6 pm (Basic Mental Skills part 1, 2.5 hours online)

  3. Saturday October 25, 9 am - 4 pm (Technical and Tactical applied (Simon Fraser University, wrestling room))

  4. Saturday October 25, 9 am – 4 pm, Basic Mental Skills integrated into applied session (SFU)

  5. Note: There will be an alternative applied session in Kelowna - location TBA (Nov.15) Participants take part in all the online sessions with everyone else. This is to accommodate interested coaches from the interior to cut down on travel costs.

Following registering for the community coach or competition introduction workshops, please email execdirector@bcwrestling.com to follow up for payment.


Please include “[Participant’s full name] 2025 NCCP Competition-Introduction fee” in the subject header and an email which can be used for e-transfer, and we will follow up with an e-invoice.

Coach Education Subsidy Program

The BCWA Coach Education Program offers financial support (up to 50 % of fees) to certified BCWA coaches who complete NCCP-level courses/workshops (Community, Competition-Intro, Development).

BCWA’s Travel Grant Program

The BCWA Travel Grant helps member teams/clubs offset travel costs.
