2020 Olympic Wrestling Hopeful Poised for Gold at Upcoming Sr. World Championships in Hungary


Oct 2, 2018 - Vancouver’s 2017 world wrestling bronze medalist (75Kg), Justina Di Stasio is set to take on the world again, October 20-28 in Budapest, Hungary at the Women’s World Championships but now at 72Kg. Justina moved down from 76Kg at the Canadian world team trials to win the right to represent Canada.


A 2020 Olympic wrestling hopeful, Justina is a 2017 Pan Am Champion and 2016 World University Champion at 75Kg representing Canada and SFU where she is also an Assistant Wrestling Coach. At the lower weight class, Justina is well poised to build upon her 2017 bronze medal at the worlds to bring back Gold!


Justina was recently inducted into the Indigenous Gallery of the BC Sports Hall of Fame along with Olympian (92Kg) and Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist (100Kg), Greg Edgelow, both of Cree ancestral heritage from Manitoba.


​The British Columbia Wrestling Association is a not for profit provincial sport association and the governing body for amateur wrestling in British Columbia.   BC Wrestling has approximately 3,000 registered members consisting of both male and female wrestlers, coaches and officials. BC has produced 5 Olympic medalists, 7 senior world championship medalists and 10 Commonwealth Games Gold medalists since 1982.
