Jim Mitchell Wins Sport BC Presidents Award

Long-time member and current board member of the BC Wrestling, Jim Mitchell, has won Sport BC’s Presidents Award for his continued selfless volunteering excellence . Jim’s contribution to the BC Wrestling community has spanned over 4 decades, and has seen him play a crucial role to the continued development of the sport of wrestling throughout our province.  Jim has imparted wisdom to hundreds of young aspiring athletes, aiding them in both becoming better wrestlers, and becoming productive citizens once their time on the mat has ended.

Jim has also served as a mentor for young aspiring officials. He has been generous with both his time and expertise to help stage various wrestling tournaments throughout the province. In particular Jim has stepped forward to host the BC Secondary School Wrestling Championships on numerous occasions ensuring that elite high school wrestlers have a suitable platform to showcase their skills.

Jim currently volunteers his time with the BCWA board, helping guide the association in its operation.
