Highlights of the 2020 BCSSWA Provincial Championships

This years BCSSWA Provincial Championships presented by Onni Group took place February 15-17th at the Langley Events Center. With almost 500 athletes, 141 coaches, and a crowd full of family, friends, supporters and spectators, this years championship is said to be one of the best. Kicking off the event, BCSSWA President Mike Roselli appeared on Global News speaking to the spectacularity that is the BCSSWA Provincial Championships.

​​RESULTS Taking to the mats, athletes from across the province exhibited feats of strength, determination, and true passion for the sport.  Among those teams who competed, Maple Ridge Secondary School took home both the combined and female team titles.  Taking home the male team title was Tamanawis. Of the finals matches, two athletes were awarded the most outstanding male and female award. In addition, two of the most exciting matches of the tournament were selected and commended. Most Outstanding Male: Talon Hird- Cowichan Most Outstanding Female: Marquesis Haintz Most Outstanding Male Match: 70 kg Final-Gagan Grewal (Abbotsford Traditional) over Seth Price (Alberni District) Most Outstanding Female Match:  51 kg Final- Ivy threatful (MRSS) over Zena Shew (South Island Distance Education Centre)
