BCWA Welcomes New Executive Director, Shane de Rooy

The BC Wrestling Association is excited to welcome Shane de Rooy as our new Executive Director!

Shane joins BCWA with over a decade of sport-sector leadership, including experience guiding multiple Provincial Sport Organizations through growth and innovation. Most recently, he served as Executive Director for Ski Nova Scotia, Snowboard Nova Scotia, and Freestyle Nova Scotia, where he strengthened governance, partnerships, and athlete development pathways.

A former high-performance athlete, Shane’s leadership focuses on collaboration, accountability, and creating inclusive environments where athletes, coaches, and volunteers can thrive.

Now back in British Columbia, Shane looks forward to connecting with our wrestling community, enhancing member engagement, and building on BCWA’s strong foundation for the future of the sport.
