BCWA Sanctioning - Cadet, Junior, Senior National Championships

This is a friendly reminder to register for BCWA sanctioning for the upcoming Cadet, Junior, and Senior Wrestling Canada Lutte National Championships in Montreal, Quebec (May 28-30, 2026). All athletes intending to participate must complete their BCWA sanctioning registration by May 1, 2026 (coaches, officials, and support staff do not require BCWA sanctioning, but must have a valid 2025/2026 BCWA membership).

This is a required step to be eligible to attend and compete at the National Championships.

Understanding BCWA & WCL Registration Requirements

We understand that the registration process for nationals can be confusing, as it involves two separate organizations and 2mev registration portals.

- BC Wrestling Association (BCWA) is the provincial sport governing body

- Wrestling Canada Lutte (WCL) is the national sport governing body

To participate in National Championships, all athletes must have all of the following:

- Valid 2025/2026 BCWA membership

- BCWA Sanctioning Registration (provincial requirement)

- WCL Event Registration and license (national requirement – link coming soon)

The BCWA Sanctioning and WCL event registration are completed through separate registration portals, but both are required in order to step onto the field of play.

BCWA is responsible for confirming that all participants from our province are in good standing (including membership and sanctioning) which is confirmed through BCWA Sanctioning, while WCL manages the official event registration.
