Understanding BCWA & WCL Registration Requirements
We understand that the registration process for nationals can be confusing, as it involves two separate organizations and 2mev registration portals.
- BC Wrestling Association (BCWA) is the provincial sport governing body
- Wrestling Canada Lutte (WCL) is the national sport governing body
To compete at the National Championships, all athletes must have all of the following:
1. Valid 2025/2026 BCWA membership
2. BCWA Sanctioning Registration
3. WCL Event Registration and WCL participant license
The BCWA Sanctioning and WCL event registration are completed through separate registration portals, but both are required in order to step onto the field of play. Coaches, officials, and support staff do not require BCWA sanctioning, but must have a valid 2025/2026 BCWA membership and WCL participant license, and must register through the WCL event registration portal.
BCWA is responsible for confirming that all participants from our province are in good standing (including membership and/or sanctioning) which is confirmed through BCWA Sanctioning, while WCL manages the official event registration.
We wish everyone the best of luck in preparing to take to the national stage!
