The Western Age Class is just around the corner! Here are some friendly notices:
Volunteer at the Age Class
We need your help at the 2024 Western Canada Age Class! We encourage athletes, parents, managers, chaperones - and anyone in the wrestling community to get involved. If interested, we would love to have you join our team! If you are a student and/or need proof of volunteer recognition - we are also happy to provide reference letters/volunteer confirmation!
Why Should I Volunteer?
Wrestling is a sport that requires help both on and off the mats. Our volunteers play an integral part in ensuring our sport continues to expand, grow, and thrive. We are very grateful for their time, talents, passion and commitment. In return, we provide our volunteers with opportunities to develop skills, expand networking connections and create experiences that will stay with them forever.
We Currently Need Volunteers to Help with:
Event set up (setting up tables, flyers/banners, score clocks, etc.)
Participant Check-In and Coach Accreditation (checking in registered participants and handing out lanyards)
Spectator Registration
Event Tear down (Clean-up)
Medical (athlete skin checks during weigh in, first aid, etc.)
Officiating (score keepers, bout runners, draw-masters assistance)
And many other tasks!

The weekend of January 20-21 the Oval will be the host venue for the 2024 Western Canada Age Class Wrestling Championships and its usual programming in the Ice Zone, Hardwood Courts and fitness level.
We anticipate that the parking lot will be even busier than usual. Please plan ahead and give yourselves ample time to secure parking. Alternate parking options are available, including the City of Richmond Works Yard (5min drive west on Lynas Rd, park for free), with a free shuttle service right to the Oval on Saturday and Sunday only. To review alternate parking options, please click here.
Shuttle service will be available from 8:00 am until 4:00pm on Saturday and Sunday.
REMINDER: if dropping off, please use the designated drop-off/pick-up zone on River Road in front of the Oval (no stopping/parking/waiting on Oval Way, or in the area of the Accessible Parking Stalls commonly required for our paralympic events/training and others with accessibility needs).

We can't wait to see everyone at this years championships!
