Team BC Selection 2025 Dinos Cup Selection Information

This is a friendly reminder that the 2024 SFU War on the Floor is fast approaching! The War on the Floor will take place at Simon Fraser University December 14-15, 2024 at the SFU Central Gym (Burnaby). This year we are proud to announce the new addition of elementary divisions, and the addition of the intermediate division in place of the novice category. 

The registration deadline for the War on the Floor is December 10, 2024 at 11:59 pm

All coaches must register at no cost to be accredited for the event. Wrestlers may register for both the Intermediate tournament and Elite tournament. Wrestlers placing top 4 in the Intermediate tournament may register for the Elite tournament after the Elite registration deadline, and registration to be completed on 2MEV by December 14, 2024 at 7:30pm.

2025 Dinos Cup & Jurassic Classic Team BC Selection

Interested in attending the 2025 Dinos Cup & Jurassic Classic as apart of Team BC? If so, then read through the below!

For the Dino’s Cup, BC Wrestling will be selecting a team that will be travelling to Calgary, AB as TEAM BC.

Selection will be based on the following criteria:

• Must be born from 2007-2011

• Top 3 athletes from BC from the weight class at the SFU War on the Floor tournament. (True second matches will apply)

• Challenge matches may take place at conclusion of War on the Floor Tournament.

• Participation at provincial practices and the BCWA Winter Camp

• Provincial Coaches reserve discretion on team selections

Weight Divisions:

Females: 47, 50, 53, 56, 59, 62, 65, 69, 73, 80, 90 (kilogram)

Males: 48, 52, 56, 60, 65, 71, 77, 85, 92, 100, 125 (kilogram)

Final selection will be determined Dec 27, 2024.

The Dino’s Cup Duals will be TEAM BC athletes ONLY, as this will be a dual meet tournament with the other provinces. The Jurassic Classic tournament is open to all wrestlers. We encourage athletes who were not selected to Team BC to compete as well.
