Congratulations to the 2023 Andy Laliberté Award Recipient - Marley Jackson!

Marley Jackson demonstrated commitment to wrestling, athletic merit, support to teammates, and leadership of the wrestling program in support of coaches and athletes. As the winner of the 2023 Andy Laliberte Athlete Award, Marley Jackson will receive a bursary of $1000 to assist in attending the U19 Canadian Wrestling Championships. Marley has been involved in the development of her younger teammates at Burnaby Mountain throughout her high school career. She has represented our school to the highest standards of respect, responsibility and excellence having medaled at the BC School Sports provincial championships since she was in grade 8. -Jarett Richardson, Burnaby Mountain Secondary School Marley has shown her deep commitment to the sport - she has competed in a rigorous competition schedule the past two years. She has demonstrated great time management skills in her ability to manage such an intense practice and competition schedule, as well as a deep love for the sport. Her results speak for themselves - Cadet Trials winner, U17 National Champion, Canada Summer Games medalist 2x medalist, first place at the Matmen Classic and first place at the Dino Cup where she represented Team BC. She has diligently shown up to all BC Wrestling Camps, and BC Wrestling tournaments and is a fantastic ambassador for our province and this sport. -Jess Tang, Coach Wrestling Academy Congrats Marley!
