2022 BC Indigenous Provincial Wrestling

Rob Smyth, Cree and settler ancestry, District Principal of Indigenous Education in Burnaby is working with Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation Council (ISPARC) to offer a two-day wrestling camp for Indigenous Youth ages 10-18 March 5 and 6 at Simon Fraser University. The goal of the camp is to build community, create some excitement for youth and to prepare the experienced athletes for an opportunity to compete in the 2023 North American Indigenous Games. Rob is NCCP trained, has coached and competed in wrestling for over 30 years and will coach Team BC in 2023. ISPARC will be inviting an Elder to welcome the athletes and situate us all on the lands we share together.
