Health Safety Update for BC Wrestling Members (Nov. 22/20)

BCWA is extending and expanding, province-wide, the restriction of all in-person wrestling activities effective from Monday, November 23, 2020 at noon to Monday, December 7, 2020 at midnight.

Exemptions

High performance athletes are not included in the wrestling activities restriction. To qualify as a high performance athlete, you must be:

-Identified by the Canadian Sports Institute Pacific and BCWA as a high

performance athlete and be a current registered member of BCWA.

-Already training in B.C.

-Continue to follow the BCWA Return to Play Phase 3 Guidelines.

All clubs must now provide a Club Safety Plan to BCWA prior to restarting. The Club Safety Plan must be readily available and provided to club members if requested. It is the responsibility of the club’s head coach to fulfill the Club Safety Plan requirements.

As a reminder, members of all ages must be current registered BCWA members to access BCWA programs and insurance. Last year’s BCWA membership had expired on August 31, 2020 and renewal is required to have a current BCWA membership.

PHO Public Orders

By order and direction of the PHO, all individuals, places of work and businesses in B.C. must significantly reduce social interactions and travel.

No social gatherings of any size with anyone other than your household or core bubble. For example:

Do not invite friends or extended family to your household

Do not gather outdoors

Do not gather in your backyard

Do not have playdates for children

Travel to, from and between regions for athletic activities like games, competitions, training and practice is restricted under this order.

Masks are now required for everyone in all public indoor settings and workplaces. People who cannot wear a mask or who cannot put on or remove a mask on their own are exempt.

Stay in and stay safe!
