Eve Maxwell, of Salmon Arm Secondary School, and Ella Finding, of Port Moody Secondary School, both demonstrated commitment to wrestling, athletic merit, support to teammates, and leadership of the wrestling program at their school in support of the coach and/or other athletes. The winners of the Andy Laliberte Athlete Award will each receive a bursary of $500 to assist in attending the U19 Canadian Wrestling Championships.
“Ella Finding’s dedication and commitment are reflected by the countless number of hours training and competing camps and tournaments throughout the year. Her commitment to excellence is not only with her success, but with the success of her teammates, who she helps coach at Port Moody Secondary. She won her first Provincial Championship this year and she plans to continue wrestling through post-secondary and possibly further. Congratulations Ella.” -Selwyn Tam, Port Moody Secondary School Wrestling Coach
“Eve is the most dedicated and hardest working wrestler that I have ever had. As well as attending the Nationals, Eve got herself to the lower mainland to go to Washington with the B.C. team. She will attend WCL’s Cadet Team Trials and BCWA’s Canada Games Trials. We are all very grateful and wish to thank the wrestling community and B.C. Wrestling.” -Ray Munsie, Salmon Secondary School
